Aspect Ratio
Always specify — 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9, or similar. Without it, the model picks a default that may not match your end use.
Eight battle-tested prompt examples for ChatGPT Images 2.0 / GPT Image 2 — posters, infographics, character sheets, product shots, manga panels, slide decks. Each prompt comes with a breakdown of why it works. Try them free on TwoShot, no Plus subscription required.
Copy any of these into TwoShot or ChatGPT. Each comes with a short note on what's doing the work — so you can adapt them to your own briefs.
Create a vertical 2:3 concert poster for indie band 'Night Static' at Brixton Academy, May 15 2026 at 8pm. Moody nighttime cityscape, glitch aesthetic, bold white sans-serif title at the top, tour dates in a clean list at the bottom.
A vibrant studio product photo of a handmade ceramic mug with organic texture on a sunlit wooden table. Natural window light from the left, soft shadow, minimalist composition, shallow depth of field, photographed on a Hasselblad. 16:9 aspect ratio.
Create a 16:9 horizontal timeline infographic titled 'AI Image Models 2023-2026' with 4 evenly-spaced stages: 'DALL-E 3 (2023)', 'GPT Image 1 (2025)', 'Nano Banana 2 (Feb 2026)', 'GPT Image 2 (Apr 2026)'. Each stage has an icon and a 1-line description underneath. Clean modern typography, subtle color gradient background.
Character sheet for an original cyberpunk detective named Mira: short silver hair, scarred left eyebrow, long black trench coat with neon-blue interior lining, worn leather boots. Four poses on one canvas — front, three-quarter, side, back. Clean white studio background, consistent lighting. 16:9.
[upload product photo] Replace the background with a clean marble countertop, soft natural window light from the upper right. Preserve the product's size, orientation, reflections, and shadow direction exactly. Match the new light source color temperature to the existing highlights on the product.
[upload English poster] Translate all in-image text to Japanese — keep the exact same layout, typography style, and visual composition. Title, subtitle, body, and fine print all in natural contemporary Japanese. Maintain reading direction as horizontal for this layout.
A 16:9 presentation title slide titled 'Q2 Product Roadmap' with the subtitle 'April-June 2026' below. Abstract hero illustration on the right showing three stylized rocket trajectories converging on a target. Corporate-clean typography, dark navy background with subtle starfield, bright accent color on the rockets.
A single black-and-white manga comic panel: a surprised young woman with cat ears reading a text message on her phone, interior cafe setting, dramatic manga-style speed lines radiating from her face, her speech bubble reads 'He said WHAT?!' in bold dialogue lettering. 3:2 landscape format.
Always specify — 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9, or similar. Without it, the model picks a default that may not match your end use.
Put the exact in-image text in quotes. GPT Image 2 renders quoted text legibly; paraphrased directions like 'a motivational headline' produce unpredictable text.
Reference a medium or camera — 'photographed on Hasselblad', 'manga panel', 'editorial illustration'. This anchors style much better than vague adjectives.
Specify where things go — 'headline at top', 'product in center', 'list at bottom'. GPT Image 2's thinking mode uses this to plan composition.
Direction, quality, and color — 'soft window light from the left', 'golden hour', 'harsh overhead fluorescent'. Lighting steers mood fast.
Don't ask for 'minimalist and highly detailed' — the model will pick one. Keep style direction internally consistent to avoid muddy output.

Five ingredients: subject (what), setting (where), style (how), composition (layout/camera/aspect ratio), and any in-image text (exact words). GPT Image 2's thinking mode uses layout cues to plan the result — so explicit aspect ratios, subject positions, text content, and style references all move the needle. Avoid vague prompts like 'a nice image' — the model can't plan composition without direction.
Long enough to specify subject + style + composition + any text — usually 30-80 words. Very short prompts under-direct the model and you get generic output; very long prompts (200+ words) can introduce contradictions. The sweet spot is detailed-but-focused.
Put the exact text in quotes in your prompt: headline 'Good Morning', subtitle 'fresh coffee daily'. GPT Image 2 renders quoted text legibly most of the time — it's the model's strongest text rendering of any competitor in April 2026. For multilingual text, specify the language: 'headline in Japanese reading「こんにちは」'.
Describe identifying features explicitly and re-use them across prompts: 'Mira — short silver hair, scarred left eyebrow, black trench coat'. For best results, upload a reference image of the character in subsequent generations — GPT Image 2 supports up to 16 reference images per edit.
Yes. TwoShot uses the same GPT Image 2 model that powers ChatGPT Images 2.0, free with credits on signup. The prompts on this page work identically on both platforms — copy-paste them and try.
Three common causes: (1) too much text — GPT Image 2 handles headlines and short body copy best, not full paragraphs; (2) not quoted — put exact text in quotes so the model treats it as content to render; (3) unclear placement — add 'at the top' / 'bottom left' / 'inside the speech bubble' to direct where text should appear.
Any aspect ratio between 3:1 (ultrawide) and 1:3 (ultratall). Common values: 1:1 square, 16:9 widescreen, 9:16 portrait, 21:9 ultrawide, 4:3, 3:2, 5:4, and their inverses. Pick the one that matches your end use — social, slide, poster, banner, phone wallpaper.
Upload the image as a reference, then prompt with edit instructions: '[upload] Change the background to a sunlit forest path, keep the subject identical, match the light direction to the existing shadows'. Be explicit about what to preserve vs what to change. GPT Image 2 supports up to 16 reference images per edit.
