For devs who need art while they're coding — hero images for landing pages, icons for a new feature, thumbnails for blog posts — the TwoShot MCP server in Claude Code removes the whole copy-paste-into-another-tool loop. You ask Claude for an image the way you'd ask for a function, and the file lands where you tell it to. TwoShot exposes multiple image models via the MCP: Nano Banana 2 for fast general-purpose, GPT Image 2 for text-in-image and detailed compositions, Flux for photo-realistic portraits, Stable Diffusion variants for style-specific outputs. Claude Code picks sensibly by default (Nano Banana for speed, GPT Image for anything with text). You can override by naming the model in the prompt. The neat part is that Claude Code can also write the image directly into your project. Ask 'make a hero image for the landing page and save it to /public/hero.webp' and it'll run the job, fetch the file, and drop it in the right place — no download-then-copy step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which models are available?

All of TwoShot's image models: Nano Banana 2, GPT Image 2, Flux, Stable Diffusion, and more. Claude auto-picks based on your prompt; you can name a specific model in the request to override.

Can Claude save the image directly to my project?

Yes — if you've granted filesystem access, ask 'save it to /public/hero.png' and Claude will fetch the output via twoshot_get_download_url and write the file. Otherwise you get a URL you can curl.

What about image editing — can I iterate on an existing image?

Yes. Pass an image path and ask for edits ('same scene but add a sunset sky'). Claude uploads the source via the import tool and runs it through TwoShot's image-to-image models.

Is there a size limit on outputs?

Most models output up to 2048×2048 natively; TwoShot's upscaler handles larger sizes on request. For favicon/icon use cases, ask for smaller directly — faster and cheaper.

Can I make a batch of images?

Yes — Claude Code handles 'make 10 variations' by chaining calls. Each variation is a separate job, so cost scales linearly, but you can run them in parallel.
